ہم میں ہی تھی نہ کوئی بات، یاد نہ تُم کو آ سکے
تُم نے ہمیں بُھلا دیا، ہم نہ تمہیں بُھلا سکے
تُم ہی اگر نہ سُن سکے، قِصّۂ غم سُنے گا کون
کس کی زباں کُھلے گی پھر، ہم نہ اگر سُنا سکے
ہوش میں آ چکے تھے ہم، جوش میں آ چکے تھے ہم
بزْم کا رنگ دیکھ کر سَر نہ مگر اُٹھا سکے
رونقِ بزْم بن گئے، لب پہ حکایتیں رہیں
دل میں شکایتیں رہیں لب نہ مگر ہِلا سکے
شوقِ وصال ہے یہاں، لب پہ سوال ہے یہاں
کِس کی مجال ہے یہاں ہم سے نظر مِلا سکے
ایسا ہو کوئی نامہ بر، بات پہ کان دھر سکے
سُن کے یقین کرسکے، جا کے اُنھیں سُنا سکے
عجْز سے اور بڑھ گئی برہمیِ مزاجِ دوست
اب وہ کرے علاجِ دوست، جس کی سمجھ میں آ سکے
اہلِ زباں تو ہیں بہت، کوئی نہیں ہے اہلِ دل
کون تِری طرح حفیظ ، درد کے گیت گا سکے
